Hey guy. I don't want to seem discouraging for giving 2 1/2 stars, but the reason I did is only because I have no idea how to play this game.
She seems to move (or hop about) when I'm clicking but I can't figure out if where I'm clicking affects where she'll go. It's a good looking game. No sound is a bit of a bummer (but, first game, I get it).

UPDATE: I think I've figured out the mechanics. It's kind of like a sling shot. Whatever direction you want her to go in you click, hold and drag in the opposite direction, and let go. Interesting idea, but you should really put that in the "Author Comments" so people know before hand and give you an unfair score. Keep at it, though :-)

Thank you so much for your review! It is a common complaint that it was hard to understand the controls so I need to fix that in the future. 2.5 stars is not discouraging at all :) I am glad that you like how the games look!

Nice fun little game, like all your others. I do however seem to be having an issue with obtaining the medal for completing the game. I've finished it twice now (the first time I thought there might be something wrong with my browser, first chrome, then firefox), but it still hasn't unlocked. Besides that and the title mix up, good effort. :-)

Fun game all round. It's a little bit too easy to overpower your plane early on, but that does add to the satisfaction of decimating enemies.

I did encounter a few bugs in the game. I wasn't able to get sound to work on Chrome, but it worked fine on Firefox. And on level 11, I had a strange glitch that started out when the game began to lag with so many sprites on the screen. The sprite for my plane turned into a green looking explosion and the coin counter went out of control. Even when lag stopped and the game returned to normal, the coin counter kept on racing. But it returned to normal next level (though I now had over 160,000 coins).

All in all, I'm a fan. :-)

Frozennnn responds:

Hi thanks for the feedback yes there is a bug because stencyl when turn slow performance there is a bug in the coins and detect too much im trying to fix

Not a bad little game. But it looks like the instructions on the Start Screen are incorrect. They say that X is the action key and Z is undo, then once the game starts the instructions say that X is undo.

StuartsPixels responds:

Wow, good spotting! No idea how that crept in there. Cheers!

Out and out plagiarism of Gravity Duck.

I'll be blunt. This game is a literal time-waster. You play as a librarian in a world where trolleys don't exist as you meander back and forth pointlessly. With the completion of each level (you're notified that you have "leveled up" but you haven't, and you don't...ever), another book is added to your pile as the distance you must cover to reach the shelves they're to be returned to is slightly increased.

Visually, there's nothing "wrong" with it (aside from the Harry Potter font, whose inclusion in a game that doesn't feature any kind of magic, favoring instead mundane job simulation, makes no sense), but it offers nothing memorable.

I tried to play through to the end to find out if there is any kind of payoff to this game, but abandoned that notion after level 9. And I cannot in good conscience encourage anyone else to try.

If you're reading this before having played The Librarian, to the top left of your browser is an arrow pointing left. It offers you a way out. Turn back. TURN BACK NOW!!!

This is a lot of fun. I can feel the Contra influence in the power ups and directional shooting, though the controls reminded me a bit of Robocop 2 on the NES (without the weight when falling), which isn't a bad thing. I really enjoyed this, and the music is beautiful. Adding this to my favorites ^_^

Pipeweed responds:

Thank you sir!

Fun game. My only grip was with the "Max Games" logo in the right hand corner. That became a nuisance when I was trying to fight off beasties that got too high in that area. I'd try to hit them, click the logo and a tab would open up and take me to another page. I'd say if you have to have your logo displayed in your games, why not put it in the pause screen? Or at least make it smaller. Still, I had fun.

Love seeing what people can come up with using Stencyl. I like it. Went in thinking "I'll just kill a few minutes before I head off to a friend's place" and now I'm late 'cause I wanted to get to the end. Totally worth it though. Looking forward to the continuation.

Frozennnn responds:

Good review the second part will be much better thanks for the feedback

Fair play to the other reviewers. They're entitled to their opinions, but I absolutely loved this. I say well done! Loved everything about it. The music (catchy and happy as all hell), the physics (the gravity directional wheel was very clever), even the pigeon poo on the statue's head (nice touch). Again, well done mate.
